Concept Components

Concept Management can source any kind of obsolete component out there, that is, if someone is advertising it. We are Gold Standard Supplier with Broker Forum, Net Components, and IC Source and we keep a large amount of consignment stock at our site.

So, if you are looking for obsolete parts, connectors or capacitors, or indeed any circuit board components from cheap, basic to high-end spec regardless of small quantity or large volume – contact us today.

Generally speaking, there are three types of electronic components:

Active components, which rely on a source of energy and usually can inject power into a circuit, though this is not part of the definition.  Active components include amplifying components such as integrated circuits, semiconductors, transistors, triode vacuum tubes, valves, and tunnel diodes.

Passive components can’t introduce new energy into the circuit. They also can’t rely on a source of power, except for what is available from the (AC) circuit they are connected to. Therefore, they can’t amplify and increase the power of a signal, although they may increase a voltage or current. Passive components include two-terminal components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, and transformers.

Electromechanical components can carry out electrical operations by using moving parts or by using electrical connections. These are switches, terminals, and connectors.

During production, components become obsolete, either due to overstocking, end of runs or lifespan. Concept buys obsolete components. This can be via a purchase all scheme or a consignment stock partnership to maximise revenue. Obsolete electronic components have a price for re-use or scrap. Concept Management are obsolete electronic parts suppliers, so if you need electronic component parts, again call for list.

Concept Management are specialists in the repair of electronic components from re-tinning to re-balling BGAs ensuring RoHS Compliance and are experts in the field of Erasing and programming.

The RoHS Directive applies to electrical and electronic equipment that is dependent on electric or electromagnetic fields in order to work properly.

Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EPROM) is a memory chip that can be programmed and then erased, which enables it to be reused. The program is erased when an ultraviolet (UV) light source shines through a quartz-erasing window contained on the chip. EPROMs require a specialty programmer after they have been removed from the circuit. These memory chips, along with other vintage computer parts and accessories, are often used in older electronic games and other devices. EPROMs offer a cost-effective solution for embedded data storage. Chips range in size from 8 kilobytes to 16 megabytes.

Also known as firmware, a read-only memory (ROM) chip is part of an integrated circuit (IC). It is programmed with specific information when manufactured. The chip uses a capacitor and diode to connect lines of information. When the value is one, the chip is on. If the value is zero, the data lines are not connected because the chip is off. The diode allows current to flow in only one direction. The data contained on these chips is not lost when power is removed. While the data on a simple ROM chip cannot be changed, an EPROM can be erased and used again.

After you have removed the EPROM from its respective electronics circuit, you can erase the current program and install a new one. It is a relatively easy process with the right company using the right hardware and software.

Concept Management Components provide a professional, dynamic turn key solution supporting CEM’s and OEM’s throughout Europe. Essentially Concept Management Components operates as an independent stocking distributor with more than 20 years’ experience servicing the international marketplace.

Concept Management specialise in Electronic Components, RoHS Compliance Testing, Inspection Services, SMD Rework, Erasing and Programming, Tape and Reeling, Repackaging and Asset Recovery.

Concept Management Components also offer a wide range of in-house engineering skills such as ROHS conversion, re-balling, testing and re-certification of components. Concept Management Components also have many years supporting the military market and have a vast stock of problematic/obsolete components.

The difference between Concept Management Components and our competition is that whilst being able to support its clients with day to day components shortages, cost savings and excess stock management, Concept are perhaps the only broker in the UK who have a factory / laboratory on site thus meaning we are able to offer engineering based services that are fundamentally important to manufacturing sites  including, obsolete and long lead-time component sourcing, RoHS conversion, (Lead to RoHS and/or RoHS to lead), RoHS compliance testing, tape and reeling and oven baking, erasing and programming, Component refurbishing, BGA re-balling and the repackaging, inspection on counterfeit part, X-Ray inspection, asset recovery – for any obsolete parts, surplus stock and finally an open book policy on selling excess stock on a consignment basis that ensure complete transparency.
