The Rubber Industry Golf Society has a strong tradition of raising money for good causes, usually at the End of Season Dinner and as Captain I had the pleasure of selecting the charity of my choice. The charity I chose was one very close to our family’s hearts, is Trackside.

Trackside is an organisation that’s provides respite care or a short break for parents and their disabled children, one of whom is my niece, Ruby.

Ruby thoroughly enjoys her time at trackside and has lots of friends there.

Ruby’s parents Michael and Una have asked me to pass on their heartfelt thanks

What are short breaks?

Short breaks provide disabled children with the opportunity to have enjoyable experiences away from their parents and carers.

Short breaks can also contribute to a number of positive outcomes for children, including making friends, enjoying new opportunities, and promoting independence.

Short breaks give the parents and carers of disabled children the opportunity to have a break from their caring responsibilities.
