This now becoming a theme, where I comment on the previous years and the expected year to come and last year I wrote ‘we are expecting many new opportunities and a few challenges in 2020’ it’s probably safer to say in 2021 ‘we are expecting many new opportunities and many challenges’
It’s safe to say that 2022 will have many challenges, the same as last year including dealing with Covid, the new Omicron strain, possible lockdowns again, possible furloughs, potential higher costs of living and higher inflation and ultimately potential job losses, especially those in the hospitality sector.
Another factor, which I feels needs a mention is the effects of Brexit. The transition period, uncertainty of a deal or no deal; the UK to adopting a stronger policy as the environment is one of the areas that the UK looks to seek agreement on with Europe along with GDPR and data protection law implications along with free movement of trade was a mainstay in 2021. In 2022 we will not have the same challenges but will be faced with more stringent rules and if it’s the same as last year a reluctance to deal outside of the UK.
As of last year, we believe it’s challenges that drive businesses towards improvements and are looking forward to 2022 and everything that it brings!
Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all our clients, customers and our suppliers for their support during 2021.
